When it comes to festival attire, we all want to be comfortable and prepared for any weather, as well as long days outside full of dancing, walking & watching acts. Boom Town festival was absolutely enormous and I was really happy with my outfit choices and footwear. I was ready for any weather the world wanted to throw at me. After glimpses of my outfits in my previous Boom Town blog, I decided to put together a post all about my Day 1 outfit in more detail for anyone looking for some festival outfit inspo (or for your average day) with 2 more outfits from the weekend to follow.

Red & Gingham

I can honestly say I never thought i'd be a fan of gingham. I was always reminded of a picnic blanket or the checked black & white Vans phase that a lot of us went through at secondary school (I avoided that phase). However, I have recently seen gingham creeping it's way back onto fashion blogs all over Instagram, online stores & in shop windows and I must admit, I'm really liking the outfits some of my favourite bloggers have been putting together. I decided to give the re-occurring trend a go!

I purchased these gingham trousers from Pretty Little Thing (for only £15) and they are THE COMFIEST. They have an elasticated waist, soft, stretchy material and can be dressed up or down for a lot of occasions. I didn't want to be too 'black & white' so I decided to add a pop of colour with this 'HONEY' statement crop t-shit from Missguided for only £12. It also comes as a sweatshirt for £18 if you're after something a little warmer for Autumn.

These are the ultimate boots for a festival. I bought these from Missguided for £45, I usually avoid spending too much on shoes, but felt that for this occasion I really needed a pair of trust-worthy boots with a little more quality and longevity, and slightly more stylish than my B&Q wellies.

I didn't want to be caught in the mud with a pair of boots that let in all the cold and wet and I was so pleased these did the job for every outfit over the whole weekend. They are so versatile and perfect for a festival or general day to day wear. I had originally planned to wear white converse trainers with this outfit, which is another option that works well with the white and red theme, however the mud was a little too much for my converse to handle!

I layered the trousers with some fish net tights for a more interesting final look, along with my orange tinted hexagon sunglasses (bought from a vintage store) and a handy black bum-bag which is a festival must-have. A touch of glitter and red lips really helped pull everything together to create this final comfortable and quirky outfit for Day 1 of Boom Town <3
